This year, for the first time, there will be a mini show case of films that make it to the final shortlist, prior to the main awards ceremony.

AMAA is the most prestigious and transparent reward for African Cinema; AMAA has been the launch pad for many young talents in the film industry in Africa and has been at the forefront of celebrating the best of African Cinema from Across the Globe.

AMAA will be celebrating her 15th Anniversary in 2019, and we will look back at the 15 Best Directors and Best Films of the last 15 years of AMAA as an ode to where we began. We also want to Engage the Narrative, ask: “are we really telling our stories in the way they should be told?”
Also, as a form of engaging the Narratives in our task of promoting out heritage in the continued need to celebrate our journey as Africans.
