Gbenga Daniel: “My people say I must lead them to APC”

Atiku Abubakar’s former campaign Director-General, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who announced his resignation over the weekend, has disclosed that his people said he must lead them to APC.

The former Atiku Abubakar’s campaign DG had invited his loyalists and supporters to his supporters to his Sagamu residence, and they reportedly told him that they were satisfied with his decision to leave PDP but he should lead them to the ruling party.

Gbenga Daniel who spoke to reporters shortly after their meeting, said his people (supporters) were mounting pressure on him to lead them to APC.

“Basically, they said I could resign from PDP… they said I must lead them to APC and they also said I could not retire from politics. That is the summary of what I heard,” he said.

Asked if he was ready to join APC, Daniel said, “What else can I say? My people have spoken.”

Gbenga Daniel had claimed in his resignation letter that he is quitting partisan politics to resuscitate the Political Leadership Academy (POLA)which he established some years ago, added that he has “resolved to immerse myself in some other vocations and take on some new challenges.”

The former Governor of Ogun State who declared his support for APC’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, before the gubernatorial election, also disclosed that he wants to work on his pet project, the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) which he said is aimed at dispensing succor to people in need and providing help to those who have health challenges.
