English football club, Chelsea FC lose their transfer ban appeal as FIFA confirm they can’t sign players for two windows… but Blues will go to CAS in final bid to overturn sanctions.
FIFA announced on Wednesday that, following an appeal, they have decided to go through with the ban… although Chelsea can now go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for one final attempt to overturn the decision.
Chelsea had been slapped with a two-window transfer ban and a fine by FIFA, meaning they will now have to make alternative plans when it comes to their immediate recruitment approach.
The game’s world governing body announced the sanction, which relates to breaches concerning the transfer of players who are under 18, on February 22 and the Premier League club have been working to appeal against it.
It has also been revealed that Chelsea will be able to sign players under the age of 16 during the ban.
